According to British scientists, women on birth control pills are less attracted to the quintessential macho men. Strong, rugged looks give way to men with feminine features. The Johnny Depps and Orlando Blooms are preferred over the Vin Diesels and Daniel Craigs of the world. This may spell good news for all the slackers who haven’t hit the gym since 1999 and that makes most of us.

Researchers from the University of Sheffield have compiled a report that says ovulating women prefer men with a high macho factor and all the whiz bang that comes with being a jock. Read that as male-male competition, cave man dominance and poor table manners.  They prefer men who are dissimilar to themselves.

On the other hand, women on the pill prefer men with more feminine features, more genetically similar to themselves and hence as per Darwin’s Law, not so hot on the fertility front. According to a study published in the Trends in Ecology and Evolution medical journal, they have seen evidence to support this fact.

Roll over Darwin, the meek shall inherit the world. With population figures bursting through the roof, contraceptives will save the day.

Finally a dampener for those who can’t wait to test this study, it will never be a good idea to ask a pretty girl if she’s on the pill. So stop devising strategies, and go do some push ups instead.

I hate Pills. I Kill Pills.

I hate Pills. I Kill Pills.
